Lots of places. Some want to get rid of the "problematic" overtones of someone group being inherently evil, others do it out contrarianism or because they find subversion funny.
While not technically demons, tieflings in DnD are a poster child of that "demonic creature in modern fantasy" panel, on a meta level they are kinda stereotyped as darlings of theatre kid pronoun squad who want to play as unfairly persecuted chaotic/neutral good LGBTQQIIA2S+ anti-heroes. Karlach from BG3 is a decent example of a wholesome quirk chungus tiefling.WotC itself has been also steadily trying to make orcs nicer. Traditionally they were an "enemy" race, with the role of "playable" orcs being filled by half-orcs, but for example a 2024 player handbook has no half-breeds and instead regular orcs got fully promoted from being barbarian rapist-plunderers(yikes, that ain't it y'all) to being a fully playable race that doesn't inherently lean evil anymore.
Also "church bad" is a widespread theme in isekaislop, not surprising because the authors of these shitty web novels which get anime adaptations all copy from each other. Demons/monsters having a nicer side or sometimes outright being morally superior to humans is likewise fairly common. This shit is so widespread Frieren got tons of praise simply because it subverted the subversion by showing that demons are, in fact, evil.
