Funnily, i recently read a history book about the life of students at Oxford back during the 1400-1500s.
That was some WILD shit man. The average day was 19 hours of studying, 3.30 hours of sleep and 1.30 hour total to eat/leisure (basically just enough time to wash your ass, groom and change clothes). Every fucking day waking up at 3 AM, going to bed at 11.30 PM, no weekends. For up to 10 years depending on the cursus you wanted (royal physician, barber-surgeon, professor of medicine,..). Now you know why they wanted to be called by their title once graduated, because they earned it for real.

And the discipline was something else too ofc. But no wonders back then we started to shart out geniuses, even worst Korea students are lazy asses compared to medieval european students.
