Personally, as someone who was bordeline suicidal in 2022 (intense burnout and depression) and 2023 (got super sick, lost almost all of my money, didn't know if I was gonna live), I'm just gonna list out stuff that I did that EVENTUALLY yielded change. I say eventually because it will always take time to drag yourself out of a deep pit. For me it took about two and a half years to feel whole. I was doing all of these things simultaneously (as much as I reasonably could) during my darkest moments.

>diet
>taking walks and getting sun
>talking to people
> some creative output (music, drawing, writing)
>write A LOT. Journal all of your thoughts, from your darkest to the most hopeful
>read philosophy and hopeful fiction
>read about God
>prayer/meditation. Really humble yourself to a higher power and you'll see that there is light beyond this world
>write out clear goals, no matter how small and innocuous, and follow through
>read the Gospels

As for the last one, you don't need to be religious to really take value out of the gospels of Jesus. I've read A LOT but there's something about the Book of John, for example, that still makes me tear up to this day. Imo, it's Human Condition: The Book and I highly recommend to at least read it or listen to it (David Suchet's reading is up on Youtube and it's amazing), especially in moments of intense despair.

In terms of supplements, I found that vitamin B12 and saffron helped a lot with my depression and brain fog.
