You're qualified for clerkial at the level you're experienced in. Your history degree may also qualify you as a paralegal, a researcher at a news outlet, a heritage site manager, an entry level role in a museum or a entry level public sector role in policy writing. Look into those for your area.

Don't join the military just because you can't find a job. They'll probably reject you, but if they don't it's people like you joining for the wrong reasons who get people killed.
