I've seen a geriatric lady do push ups against the wall because she couldn't physically get on the floor until a week later she could.
Meanwhile you're making excuses. Disabled people can still exercise and generally have more reason to do so.
A paraplegic can't do jumping jacks butt they can still exercise.

How did that work out for you? If something is broken, you try to fix it. You don't just learn how to live with it broken.

This was my issue. It turned out that *when* I delivered was as important as how. When she was in an environment where she was already open to finding a solution and in the presence of others, couples therapy,she was actually receptive because she was thinking about solutions BEFORE being criticized.
Even the gentlest criticism triggered her defensiveness. So any criticism shut down her ability to discuss. So discussion had to start first.
