Trust me, the answers you're seeking aren't to be found in any of them. Most drugs can either make a good time better or a bad time worse, and it seems like you're in camp "bad", so I wouldn't start experimenting with anything, now. Drugs are essentially getting a feeling out on loan and you always have to repay that debt at a greater cost. As time goes on, that cost gets higher and higher, just watch alcoholics going through withdrawals.
There's an argument to be made for psychedelics helping people out of rough spots, sure; but if you're a total novice to drugs, you should consider this an option to look into far later (if at all), and as a novice, you'll want someone else to at least be there while you do the drugs. Ideally they'd be familiar with them.

Which is not necessarily a good thing. If people are telling you they can't imagine going through the day without being high or not having whiskey cokes when they get home (or worse), they're telling you they're miserable and coping through substances.
