That's the whole point to begin with. It's an "in" for amteurs/non-professionals to test their writing talent and possibly becoming a professional from there. It's a field of limitless chaos where trash and diamonds in the rough randomly intermingle, but it also innovates by bringing in lateral entrants into a system that has utterly stagnated at that point due to business goals and editor meddling leading to the suppression of authors just pulling off their own thing, which led us to the "standardized" LN dumpster fire trends that were the battle harems in the 2000s and magic high schools in the late 2000s to early 2010s.
Narou/Kakuyomu circumvent that whole process and allow the writers to actually write what they want and have the "market" judge the results. Though ironically the outcome was good for the publishers as well, as they could then just sweep in and grab the best ones as (almost) guaranteed money-printing machines, to the point that LN as a medium transformed from being mostly an original source to being most an adaptation or remake of a WN.
Regardless, without its "starter pack for writing" aspect, isekai would have never become such a huge phenomenon to begin with.
