I was trying to impress this new kid that had just moved in from Reykjavik because I was starting to develop I guess like a crush and didn't have much of a personality to lead with so I thought maybe surprising him by speaking Icelandic would make an impression. So I spent like a year studying the language in my spare time, getting books from the library and listening to audios of Icelandic conversations on the internet, waiting for the perfect time to strike up a conversation in Icelandic.
Don't do that. It's a bad idea. Do not approach a stranger you have been stalking for upwards of a year by speaking inscrutably broken Icelandic to them. They will cackle in your face. You will not make a good first impression. Just be normal and say hi you fucking idiot.
