Well, you see, the problem with your premise is that you claim you don't see a point in working hard now BUT in 5 years you will suddenly become a hard worker and pick up the pieces after the crash.
This is wrong simply for the reason that right now at this very moment there are millions of hard working men that put work and effort to keep this system running, mostly because they now have a stock in it and they don't want to lose it.
So what's really happening is that You - a currently unmotivated lazy neet who will become disciplined and hard working man in 5 years - are competing against men who are already disciplined and hard working men and in 5 years they will have 5 years of experience over you.
