Or how they paved the way for current-year racial grievances by attacking blacks and making sure they effectively stayed second-class citizen for the following century. Or how they shamelessly latched onto the legacy of the Confederacy, dirtying the images of actually honorable Confederate icons like Robert E. Lee or PGT Beauregard and cementing the rebellion as just a pro-slavery white supremacist reactionary event in the eyes of later Americans. Or how they gave DC the excuse it needed to make the OG spook agency, the FBI.

The Klan and their faggot brethren the White League accomplished nothing besides making disenfranchised ex-Confederates feel a little bit better about losing a war that cost hundreds of thousands of American lives and left the South in ruins. Any modern Southerner that defends them is unironically retarded.
