I'm very retarded but I've been floating this idea from a while
>Setting is a far off future where nations stretch across the stars, space colonies litter the black void connected by large spacecraft and mechs because why not lol
>Girl A is a mech pilot for a shipping company to protect the cargo during voyages in dangerous areas
>Girl B is in the repair crew and often has to work on A's mech because she keeps pushing it to its limit without realizing it
>A is often around in the repair bay and talking to B, B often scolding her for being too reckless
>A defends herself by arguing that it brings results and can let them get away from attacks quicker
>The two build up their relationship over time from being so close to each other for long periods of time growing from bitter disdain to hatefucking to lovely dovey fucking in the cockpit
>A good while later and some chapters of fluff and action shit hits the fan turning the story around
>During one run, A's mech is incapacitated resulting in her unable to defend the carrier ship, this leads to the ship and B being caught up in an explosion
>Reinforcements arrive but it's to late since the main carrier ship just got destroyed, A is picked up and brought back to another ship
>A totally just crashes out and gives up after watching her girlfriend die
>Quits her job as a pilot, takes whatever she has left, and fucks off to a random space colony to live out her days buried in alcohol and cigarettes
>One day while half dead from alcohol poisoning she is approached by a man offering her work as a pilot, now protecting the private ship of a wealthy man's daughter
>Needing the money she reluctantly accepts
>Despite not having piloted in a few years she's still quite good at it and manages to score some decent kills
>later A Is called up to the office of the girl she is protecting
