I agree. But I have never cared for realism. Kimitsuzu makes me think most ideas of love is really just lust.

That seems to be consistent with Shinto. I honestly don't see anything wrong with this. She has more reason to want to worship Kaori than any religious person I have met would want to worship their god.

Why is this necessary? Plenty of people never find love, and probably even more never love again after the death of a partner. Why does the death of Kaori mean that Shizuku can't continue to love her? If she is happy isn't that enough? If kimitsuzu was just a tragedy, Shizuku might not want to remember Kaori out of grief. But because the experience of getting to know and falling in love with her was so overwhelming positive, she can be grateful for the short time they had together, even despite losing her in the end.

The relevant parts of the letter: "I wanted to be in your real girlfriend", "Lastly I will say something selfish. I don't want you to follow me in death. I want you to be happy and live until you are an old woman. But I would also be happy if you didn't forget about me. I love you too."
She might not have intended Shizuku to follow her words exactly as she did, but Shizuku seem to have done her best to do as she asked. I don't see how she has chosen to live is contradictory to the letter.
