That shit happens in the US too, m8. And good luck becoming a doctor in the USA with residency limits set by CONGRESS of all stupid fucking things.

We literally have government mandated artificial scarcity in medicine to make shit more expensive. And that's on top of the whole no socialized medicine thing. That's why even with the fact that plenty of people can't afford to get care we still have comparable waiting times to Canada for doctors.

Hell, large swaths of the country don't even have nearby hospitals. If you get a medical emergency in a lot of the USA, best case scenario you get a helicopter to a hospital that you might get to in time to live that will cost a life ruining amount of money and worst case scenario, you just fucking die cause there isn't a copter free or you just don't get there in time.

And that ties into another thing, fucking privatized ambulance services. A lot of people would rather drag themselves to a hospital bleeding out than eat the fees for that shit.
