Damn, Paul. Pretty harsh. Was he justified in saying this?

What's the easiest instrument to learn how play with fucked nerves?
images (29)
TL;DR I got GBS (Guillain-Barré syndrome) and want to learn an instrument

I don't want to bore you with the hospital shit but a year and a half of being forced to listen to some fucks radio 24/7 has made me come to an epiphany... I need something to give me a life

I can't play vidya on pc as good anymore so might aswell pick up an instrument.. I know what songs I want to learn (60's to 80's era rock) but don't know what instrument... my thoughts are either keyboard, drums, guitar or bass... figured you guys are experts so I came here

What is the party-est music ever made (aside from pic related)?

I mean shit that SOUNDS LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING PARTY. If you couldn't play it at a party then don't even bother. It should be the kind of music that would automatically turn the room into a party just by playing the record.

I miss real trap rap. The peak of Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, Future, Gucci, Flocka, and so many more in the late 2000s to mid-2010s.
These days any gangster can be turned into a rap superstar no matter how ass they are (Lil Durk, King Von, Polo G, Gunna, etc.).
I miss when rapper's popularity wasn't run by Dick-Cock and meme streamers like Kai or Ak, when we still had the wild west-style social media of Vine and Worldstar.

THE RETURN OF THE /daily/ THREAD
05 04
It is april five, two thousand and twenty five and it's a saturday

Remember the /daily/ threads in which you listen to an album every day and talk about it on that day? Yeah neither do I. Neither does anyone.
The point of these threads is to encourage exploration, by listening to and discussing albums we've not heard before. Typically, this is done by making a chart of albums, then listening to and discussing one album from the chart each day.
Empty charts will be provided.
Weekly charts are also available if you're busy sometimes during the month.
Want an easier (albeit a bit jankier) way to make your charts? There you go :
https://contentcalendar.vercel.app/

>that sounds dumb
Maybe it is.

>you sound dumb
Maybe I am?

>I already listened to an album today
Cool, you can talk about it here

>sounds like a circlejerk, I don't care, go away
Threads will be labeled for your filtering convenience.

I’ve never been too into trap except for Carti, but this came up on my feed and it’s been on rotation all day. Any other trap recommendations? I think I like it when the drums are really bare and there are interesting synth melodies/loops.

He might have been a dick, but he consistently had some great musical guests and performances over the years. Post some of your favorite ones and have a discussion about them, Dave, and the music in Talk Shows in general.
I'll start with one i'll always be partial to: Dylan and the Plugz/Cruzados doing Jokerman in 84. The closest he ever came to flirting with post-punk and new wave. A damn shame that he ditched the band shortly after this gig, because he's on fire here.

>I don't think Morrissey is a great singer. (hello mr pot I'm mr kettle). I met him when the Smiths first started out. A magazine suggested he interview another singer, and I don't know why, he chose me. I accepted on two conditions. One it be held in Liverpool and two it be held where I could have a drink. We met in a pub at lunchtime. I took great delight in ordering beef and holding it under his nose as he had told me he was a vegetarian (laughs)...

How do you actually get better at making music? I just keep seeming to descend into my own subjective dissonant musical experience the more music I make rather than getting closer to making something people actually like. I know artists get better because they learn to see things better but music is fundamentally more abstract, so how do you get better at "hearing" objectively.

>inb4 ear training

I've done ear training, I can identify the intervals and structures in my music. This is more an issue of taste.

IQ_distribution
Music, like everything and particularly IQ, is distributed in a bell curve. Here is the musical IQ distribution.

68% of the population falls in the 85/115 IQ range. That's average intelligence. As a musical paralel, 68% of the population listens to radiohead, rihanna, ke$ha, flaming lips, etc.

15% of the population falls in the "above average intelligence" tier. That's 115/135. Here, people listen to the more adventurous /mu/core and scaruffi-core.

then 2% of the population falls in high intelligence, from 135/160. Here people listen to very theoretically advanced music like Beethoven, Bach or Mozart.

Finally, the top 0.1% listens to Milton Babbitt, Elliott Carter, Webern, etc.

Beatles vs Rolling Stones
Why were the Beatles and Rolling Stones treated as some kind of rivalry? They really had different musical stylings, barring some minor overlap here and there, and were on fully amicable terms with each other. Even to this day I see people randomly shitting on the Beatles or Rolling Stones when someone mentions the other band, but it's like, why? It can't just be because they're British because there were a ton of other British acts at the time. It feels completely random, like if people made a rivalry out of REM and Pearl Jam just because they were both alternative acts that were big in the early 90s.

Tickets to Beyonce’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Shows Bottoming Out at $25 In LA, New Jersey
FUCG-g5WUAAUmXC
Ticket prices for Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour are dropping rapidly for some dates including those in Los Angeles and New Jersey. Initial high demand for these tour dates sent prices sky-high as fans clamored to secure their tickets during the artist pre-sale. Now that the dust has settled, taking a peek at the secondary ticketing market on SeatGeek reveals a glut of tickets that are priced well below $100. Some nosebleed tickets have been available for as low as $25, though those were quickly snapped up.
Searching dates at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles reveals tickets available for $50-$70, while tickets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ are priced at $40 and below. The secondary ticketing market appears flooded with listings and resellers are slashing their prices to avoid losses for low-demand dates.
Beyoncé’s team employed tiered pricing to segment buyers by their willingness to pay. That dynamic pricing backfired though, as resale inventory for several dates has outpaced demand. Most Queen Bey fans who wanted to see her live will have attended a ‘Renaissance’ tour date—so forking out cash for another tour might not be in the cards. That’s especially true for Bey fans who also want to see Lady Gaga, since she has not done an arena tour since 2018 (and all of her dates are now sold out).
It’s worth nothing that the ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour’s 94% sellout rate lags behind the ‘Renaissance’ tour’s near instant sell-out. That’s also compounded by the fact that the ‘Renaissance’ tour was Bey’s first live arena tour since 2016—while the ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour has rapidly followed that.
When looking at ticket prices for the upcoming tour, weekday and non-holiday shows face steeper discounts than high-profile dates like her July 4 show in Washington D.C. International dates in London and Paris also show the same volatility—suggesting these secondary ticketing prices may drop further as dates approach.

Spotify Stock Holding Up Amidst Broader Market Rout — Is SPOT a ‘Defensive Play’?
imgonline-com-ua-twotoone-q5HGqv67ii
Despite the tech sector and the broader stock market’s continued turmoil, investors are finding safe harbor in Spotify (SPOT) and Netflix (NFLX). Both stocks continue to outperform the market, and Wall Street remains confident in their future, even in the face of economic uncertainty.
As of this writing, SPOT remained above $500, while NFLX stayed above $800. That’s despite both stocks taking a dive today amid the economic storm, due in no small part to President Trump’s broad tariffs.
Anaylsts Matthew Thornton and Yiwen Zhang predict both companies’ revenue to grow or remain neutral despite “short-term challenges” they are “well-suited to weather.” Thornton is positive on SPOT’s long-term outlook, and that Netflix’s revenue will grow at a compound annual rate of 9% over the next decade.
Meanwhile, Spotify’s earnings report is set to be unveiled on April 29. Investors are eagerly watching the company’s performance in the lead-up to its earnings report. Its upcoming EPS is projected at $2.24, an 113.33% increase compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The latest consensus estimate predicts revenue in the $4.38 billion range, signifying a 10.9% increase compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
Taking the full year into account, Zacks Consensus Estimates suggest expected earnings of $10.13 per share with revenue of $18.85 billion. Such totals would signify changes of +70.25% and 11.21%, respectively, from the previous year.
