Almost no discussion on this one, I thought the pivot from """punk poetry""" to rapping is a good departure from her recent J-Punk/Pop releases.
IMO, it's really weird how she has a lot of potential and she hasn't really taken off in popularity. Rationalizing or charting Japan's music industry is kinda a fruitless endeavor, I guess. Claim your Neutral Milk Hotel song >musician sings a song originally performed by someone of the opposite sex
>switches the pronouns >listened to this when it came out
>"hmm this is pretty good"
>listen to it again yesterday

Where were you when the best pop group of the past 20 years reunited? >Formed years after the peak of progressive rocks popularity
>Despite being trashed by the new wave obsessed press for being outdated, somehow managed to score several top 40 singles in the UK and a few top 10 albums. Even getting their best known single, Kayleigh, to chart in the US
>All while sounding like Peter Gabriel era Genesis with shitty 80s synths
Marillion were one of the strangest anomalies in rock history. A band who were playing a style that had fallen out of favor hard (and wasn't really old enough to be considered nostalgic yet) somehow managed to amass a pretty big following. Why aren't they more well known? >female artist sings about being "depressed" What Carti did with this album was impressive More albums that sound like this?

PLEASE ignore tripfags and attention seekers
Post WIP's on Vocaroo*. You may NOT link to Soundclouds, Bandcamp - there are dedicated threads for posting them and anything resembling self promotion will result in bad feedback.
The state of discussion about all music making and audio topics is terrible here on /mu/, and we definitely need a dedicated board.
Here's the full argument for it:

Today’s Album : Farrah Abraham - My Teenage Dream Ended
So it looks like we have 2 kinda meme records in a row, one of which does not exist. Today’s was just… fucking awful. Yeah I know this one wasn’t meant to be taken seriously, but I’m listening to everything here. But when I say this shit sucked, it sucked BAD. It was like ke$ha’s deformed afterbirth had access to a Rebecca Black studio set and enough autotune to make T-Pain blush. Just horrible. Somehow simultaneously over and underproduced through and throughout. I don’t know for certain, but I think a lot of these backing instrumental tracks were free demos or garage band mishaps. The vocals are by far the worst part. I find it pretty difficult to absolutely despise someone’s voice, but I think Abraham did it. Just something about nasally shit tones flushed through with autotune made me damn near angry. Would never listen to it again. But again, I don't think that was the point. Someone probably just recced this for a funny, and honestly, it was kinda worth it. If I can take anything away from it, I at least laughed listening to this album with friends which was kinda fun. 0.5/10 gusic bros... we got too cocky.. Nirvana had their imitators, Pearl Jam had their imitators, and Alice in Chains had their imitators. Who were Soundgarden's imitators? tapmusic.net
ляляля тoпoля you know the drill There's always a better album For quarters! For quarters! the saucy pirates cried
Blow high! Blow low! and so sailed we
The quarters that we showed them Was to sink them in the tide
A sailing down all on The coasts of High Barbary So now that the dust has settled we can all agree that this was the best album of the 90s right?

Figured this is kind of a gamble since I'm not even sure people here are interested in this kind of stuff. Who the fuck is this asian niga? I think Leyland Kirby entirely changed my taste in music. I've been listening to him for a few months, and I've noticed that I've finally ascended from the emo rap phase. Music is so much more meaningful to me now.
Man.. I feel bad for people who don't know him; listening to garbage under a musical brainwash. I'm proud that I've cleansed myself. You don't understand how angry I am that I'll never see these guys in concert. If was older I could have gone to Alive 2007. why aint this pinned? Why am I addicted to this idiot's music Okay guitar anons, Stratocaster or Jazzmaster? >Robert Christgau, in a dissenting appraisal of Clapton's legacy, writes: "A promiscuous sideman whose monklike aura has never diminished his extravagant appetites, Clapton likes to get paid, and he's amassed a discography that for an artist of his caliber is remarkably undistinguished. In his self-protective self-deprecation he often attributes this to his own laziness or his need for a catalyst, but it's also guitar hero's disease: like many other guys whose hand-ear coordination is off the curve, he's a casual tunesmith and a corny lyricist, and his band concepts are chronically hit-or-miss." Remember years ago when you could turn on MTV late at night and stumble across some bizarre kino? For example, the first time you saw a Spike Jonze or Michele Gondry video. I came across this and it fits that vibe:

>The genre-hopping Lemonade (Parkwood Entertainment, 2016) was another attempt to promote her to auteur. An industry artifact with no personality, Beyonce swings between the playful reggae of Hold Up and the gospel hymn Freedom via the piano elegy Sandcastles. Best is probably Don't Hurt Yourself, which is quintessential Aretha Franklin. The collaboration with James Blake yields two of the most boring ballads of his career. All the media hype does little to make this album more than a marketing project. In fact, it's even less musical than Beyonce. She's a mediocre singer and an awful songwriter, and no amount of production work can fully hide that. The accompanying video (a much more relevant cultural artifact, inspired by Julie Dash's 1991 film "Daughters of the Dust"), includes spoken-word interludes of poetry by Somali-British poet Warsan Shire: "The Unbearable Weight of Staying", "Dear Moon", "How to Wear Your Mother's Lipstick", "Nail Technician as Palm Reader", and "For Women Who Are Difficult to Love".
