On the earnings call, Rapino hailed 2024 as "live music’s biggest year yet." Though the year saw 30% fewer stadium shows than did 2023, the total number of fans attending shows rose to 151m (+4%) at 50k events (+9%).
Ticketmaster, meanwhile, delivered full-year revenue of $2.99b, up 1%, with AOI of $1.1b, down 1%.
Global sponsorships saw revenue grow 9% to $1.2b with AOI of $764m, up 13%. International markets were up double digits due to festivals in Latin America and Europe.
2025 is poised to be another sensational year for the live behemoth. LN expects at least five million more fans to attend shows at venues it operates, and estimates it will spend $700-800m on venue expansion and enhancements this year, with plans to add 20 large venues globally through 2026.

Took a 5 year break from making music after doing it pretty much every day for 8 years. During that time I had it "down to a science". I Could sit down, open a new project file, and within a few hours have a fairly fleshed out "skeleton" to build on (Percussion, pads, samples, synths). I'm proud of the songs I made during this period, but in 2020 I felt myself becoming bored so I decided to take a break. I enjoyed my time outside of the producers chair, but now I feel the "itch" to make new music. I don't want to make the same music I used to make, and I feel like I need to come up with a new process or workflow to jumpstart my creativity. My fellow /mu/tants, what does your workflow look like? How do you overcome writers block and get your creative juices flowing?

I tried. I really fucking did. I cannot enjoy this dudes music for the life of me. I have listened to all his albums from his debut to Blonde on Blonde. The only songs I remotely enjoyed were his cover of house of the rising sun and that Mr Jones song.

His music is incredibly boring, which is a shame because you can tell from some tracks that he had the talent to make some pretty amazing songs. But most of his songs go nowhere. The only progression in them most of the time is the lyrics and maybe some very very subtle vocal changes when singing the same vocal melody for the 100th time.

It's just boring. He's fucking boring. I get The Beatles. I get the Beach Boys. What am I missing here with this dude?

Kanye hasn't been releasing good music since YEEZUS, that was 12 years ago

everything hes been doing since than has been mid at best, and a cringefest with embarassing displays at the worst
hes been literally attentionwhoring on twitter since he relized he wasnt relevant in the music industry anymore, and he couldnt take it

Hey /MU/.
I like to write stories, and I like to listen to music fitting the feeling/scene as I write said scene. But I don't get around much in the music department of the world, so perhaps you could help me find a song that will give me the emotion necessary for such a scene?
I'll be brief:

This feeling of "you're not in control" mixed with witnessing horrors and experiencing pain, perhaps a feeling of despair as escape seems impossible? These feelings are what I NEED for this next chapter to work.
