This is more the case with his drumming in the last 10 years, his prime stuff in blink works really well with the song (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7eFKw4Y94E )
But when since say 2011 and onwards he has been obsessed with playing something so over the top for the song at hand; It sometimes sounds like hes playing to a different song

>>121495722 Hey /mu/, can you help me understand why there have been so many diss tracks this year?
Pic unrelated, it is Pale Waves. What are your favorite Grace Jones songs? Why does minimal techno since the mid-2000s sucks so much? I've been listening to DJ-Kicks: Claude Young and Richie's Hawtin DE9 trilogy and it's pretty good, but now you have shit like Âme's Rej and Oxia's Domino which paved the way for lots of boring minimal techno tracks. What's your favorite Joker's Card /mu/? You didn't fall for the SACD meme, did you? CHARADE YOU ARE!! im gonna make some hip hop music with a pal tonight, any tips for rapping and freestyling? I already have a drum machine we are gonna use For me, The Eagles were better singers than The Beach Boys Name one good country song. I'll wait. Did Kid Rock "get more ass" than Mark McGrath? The Sugar Ray singer has confirmed that the "Bawitdaba" musician was indeed telling the truth with that lyrical boast.
The lyrics came from Rock's 2001 song "Cocky" from his album of the same name. The stanza in question includes the lyrics: "No who the fuck are you / I'm Kid Motherfuckin' Rock from the old school / Got more money than Matchbox Twenty / Get more ass than Mark McGrath."
So how did an answer to this two-plus-decade old question get answered? It started with Rock Feed posting on social media posing the question, "Did Kid Rock actually 'get more ass' than Mark McGrath?"
Not long after, popular YouTuber Finn McKenty suggested, "We need Mark McGrath to settle the debate," while also tagging the Sugar Ray singer.
That was soon met with an actual response from McGrath who took the question with good humor. "I’m going to have to confirm that he absolutely did, and extra points for rhyming ass with McGrath…hope that clears up any confusion," said the singer through X (formerly Twitter). topsters 2 is cancelled. lets celebrate with a topsters 3 thread

I think stereo mind game finally clicked for me Heroes to Zeros, the last Beta Band record to be released came out yesterday in the UK on April 26th 2004, while it was released eight days later on May 4th 2004 in the US.
This was the only album to be produced by the band itself.
Nigel Godrich also happened to mix the record, but this was a decision they apparently regretted.
This album nowadays is mixed in terms of reception from both the band themselves and by some of their fans, but it really isn't bad by any means. It shares a lot of the creative eccentricities and quirks that the band had become known for over the past seven-to-eight years that they had been active for. It's a good listen overall.
For a more 'out there' track to demonstrate their quirkiness, here's the song 'Out-Side'. One of my personal favorites.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTx38wCf7qM

And this spectacular single 'Assessment'

And for those who are unaware of The Beta Band/have heard of them but never checked them out, I hope this encourages all of you to take a listen to the band. Even if you don't happen to like them, at least you took the time to see if you were going to or not and that's greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Rick Beato, Bengalfuel and Wayne Garf also come to mind Jazz is too pulchritudinous This album is OK but it lacks any of the stand-out songs like in Bleed American. >song is like 5 unrelated shorter songs after another
