Don't paint us all with the same brush, there are lots of communities with different beliefs and practises, and I'm not offering any defence for hasidim. They'll even see me as an outsider. Those hardcore blackheads are a modern movement, barely older than the USA. Lots of people are very secular, open minded and happy to talk if you're willing to leave your prejudice behind.

I wonder where you draw the line between cult and culture. Hopefully you extend this viewpoint to other religions like Christianity and Islam.

That's the point. It's a matter of faith and tradition not logic.
