All of this can come just from animals, on their own, walking through a desert. You are now trying to blame Sahelian nomads for an atmospheric phenomenon they'd need a full understanding of the effects of Central African rain patterns to prevent, in a biome they cannot use beyond hunting the creatures causing this effect.
You'd actually be better able to argue that the failure of Central Africans to chop down the Central African rainforest was the real cause of this, but then you'd have to acknowledge that they actually did play a part of stemming this form of climate change by doing exactly this for the sake of increasing central and southern pasture/farmland when it became possible to do so, despite it later being shown that this causes desertification of the rainforest itself
