I don't see how this violates your right to free association if you aren't being compelled to work there. On the other hand, I think it would violate the free association of workers if they are barred from implementing a union shop agreement should they want to.

They have to be to politically active to an extent, labor laws are obviously a very relevant topic for unions that can be used as a weapon against them if they aren't proactive. That being said, it was already legal precedent that unions couldn't use dues for political activities without the consent of each individual contributor and they can only use the fees of non-members for administrative functions, so I don't see why this would be an issue.
