You'll be surprised but his argument is actually a whole lot more developed than that, though he rarely verbalizes the whole thing anymore.

The argument is that our beliefs rely on a set of wider presumptions - wider both in their applicability and their timespan. So for an average basedboy the idea "trans women are women" would rely on a political framework "minorities need to be protected from the status quo", which would then rely on philosophical ideas like equality, collectivism etc. The argument then continues to investigate these beliefs all the way down to elementary ones. And the elementary ones are indistinguishable from religious dogma. They are not themselves religious per se, as they won't always necessarily belong to any tradition. But they are indistinguishable in their kind.

So... the thing that keeps most atheists (and theists) from murdering and raping each other is mostly social pressure. But our ethics themselves will necessarily rely on things we cannot prove and things that transcend us.
