I think this question displays a couple major misunderstandings about paleontology.

For one thing, we don't know about every extinct animal ever, right? We study a few animals in some particular niche or fauna. We don't study every extinct animal ever. I don't know shit about scimitar cats and I don't want to. It's not my area of study and it doesn't really interest me. Same with every other paleontologist. We all have our interests and areas of study, and it's almost never "every animal ever."

Next is what we talk about. We don't sit around telling each other obscure facts about the one or two animals we've studied. That's weird and pointless. Be like listing the capitals of all the states to each other or something. Weird and pointless. Same with this thread. You presumably don't know anything about the animal that isn't listed on wikipedia, and I can promise you everything I know about the animal is listed on wikipedia, so we'd just end up quoting wikifacts back and forth at each other. There's no real reason to reproduce entire wiki articles on /an/ in the form of two autistic retards lecturing each other on a topic neither one really knows much about.
